Introducing Carefree Compass 2.0

Hello dear internet friends.

It’s been a long while. I hope you’ve been healthy and working on your happiness.

I’ve wanted to get back into sharing my travel stories for so long, but life got in the way for a bit there. Mainly, I went back to school for my master’s degree in 2020 which was simultaneously the best thing I could have done and also a massive challenge. Not so much the degree itself, but more the part where I was separated from everyone, isolated alone in England, dealing with a spectacular crash in my mental health that I just wasn’t prepared to manage. And I got covid at the finish line of my thesis, that sucked.

Somewhere in the midst of it all, my blog hosting plan expired and I was just too down and out to care, to be honest. Regret followed. Then school ended, I got a new job near home, and moved back to Boston. Somewhere in there, I got married, too.

A LOT has been going on in my life in the last two years but oh man am I excited to be working on my blog again, call it Carefree Compass 2.0. I’ll be writing about adventure and travel again (and republishing all my old articles), but also adding in some nuggets about marine conservation, the focus of my new career path that I am so damn excited about.

Ghosting the internet for two years was sort of necessary for me I guess, but I’m ready to get back to writing, photography, and putting myself out there.

With so much love,

Casey
